What we Treat / Fibromyalgia

NST is a relatively new and extremely effective subtle muscle/nerve/connective tissue technique, which has its basis in Bowen Technique. The work is gentle, non-invasive and can be performed through clothing. NST is not massage, chiropractic, or acupressure, but rather a system of stimulating body reflexes. Simple movements are done across muscles, nerves and connective tissue. This gentle contact causes the neuromuscular system to reset all related tension levels, promoting natural healing. The relief is profound and lasting, affecting muscular, digestive, respiratory, glandular and energetic systems.

Conditions which frequently respond well to NST include:

  • Spinal conditions: back pain (lower, upper, mid-back), scoliosis, posture.
  • Pelvis: pelvic imbalance, hip pain, sciatica, coccyx (tailbone) problems.
  • Trunk: chest pain, sternal pain, spring ribs.
  • Neck conditions: whiplash, neck pain, restricted range of motion, stiffness.
  • Cranial conditions: chronic headaches (including migraines), jaw pain, mal-alignment, TMJ.
  • Shoulder, elbow, wrist and hand conditions: frozen shoulder, carpal tunnel syndrome, tennis elbow.
  • Leg, knee, ankle and foot conditions: leg cramps, groin tension or pain, hamstring pain or tightness, knee pain, sciatica, sacro-iliac pain, shin splints, sprained ankles, plantar fasciitis.

The Physio will assess you for NST and if appropriate an "initial" set of 3 sessions is performed. If improvement is seen and felt, then the treatment can continue.
